A true statement piece with old-world presence: this Chippendale-style mahogany armchair features an ornate pierced crest rail, a decorative carved splat, and turned legs with stretchers for that “built-to-last” feel. The silhouette is classic parlor-chair perfection—elegant, dramatic, and surprisingly versatile in a modern home.
This chair is a 20th-century revival of the classic Chippendale style, which originated in the 18th century. It blends traditional English design elements, such as the ornate pierced back splat, with late Victorian and Edwardian manufacturing techniques. These pieces were popular in middle-class parlors and libraries as they evoked a sense of historical prestige and craftsmanship.
This chair is very solid and substantial (the kind you immediately notice when you move it). Perfect as an accent chair in a library, living room, entryway, music room, or bedroom—anywhere you want a little historic character and warm wood tones.
